How our tools work
Every number on this site comes from a published source and a formula you can check. This page lists them, the test cases each tool must pass, and every change we make.
Privacy, precisely
Your inputs and files are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers. The page downloads its code from us like any website. The numbers you type and the files you choose stay in your browser.
- Analytics: we use Umami, hosted on our own server, without cookies. It counts page visits, the referring site, browser type and country. It is set to ignore the part of a page address that holds your tool inputs.
- Share links: some tools put your inputs in the page address so you can bookmark or share a result. Only people you give the link to see it.
- Saved drafts: tools that save a draft keep it in your own browser's storage. Clearing your browser data deletes it. There is no account and no cloud copy.
- Emailing us or clicking a link to another site sends information to that destination, as you'd expect.
Sources and formulas
Seller fee tools (pricing calculator, bundle & discount guard)
US Etsy fees from Etsy's fee policy, last checked October 7, 2026: listing $0.20 (charged again when an item sells and auto-renews); transaction 6.5% of item price + shipping + gift wrap (not tax); payment processing 3% + $0.25 on the full order including tax; Offsite Ads 15%, or 12% for shops over $10,000 a year, capped at $100 per order; currency conversion 2.5% when your listing currency differs from your bank's.
Profit = what the buyer pays you (item + shipping) − fees − your costs. "What should I charge" solves that equation for the price, then rounds up to the next .99 and re-checks the rounded price through the same fee engine, so the suggested price never earns less than your target.
Scope: US sellers paid in US dollars. Other countries have different processing fees. Results are planning estimates — reconcile against your own Etsy payment account. These tools do not calculate income tax.
Christmas order-by date
Carrier "ship by" dates for delivery before December 25, 2026 from USPS and FedEx's published holiday schedule, checked October 10, 2026. UPS had not published 2026 dates. Last order date = the last day you ship on or before the carrier date, minus your processing time and buffer, counted only on the days you ship.
Printable size checker & download packager
Etsy digital listings allow up to five files of 20MB each (Etsy Help). Print sharpness = image pixels ÷ inches of paper along the matching side, after fitting the print's shape to the image. Crop = the share of the image trimmed when the shapes differ. The DPI label saved inside a file is ignored, because it doesn't add detail.
Title & tag checker
Hard limits: 140-character title, up to 13 tags, 20 characters per tag. Guidance: Etsy suggests readable titles of roughly 15 words or fewer, and says where a phrase sits in a title doesn't affect ranking. The checker reports which checks pass — it does not predict search ranking.
Trades tools
Drain slope minimums from the International Plumbing Code, Section 704.1: 2-1/2" and smaller, 1/4" per foot; 3" to 6", 1/8" per foot; 8" and larger, 1/16" per foot. Fall = slope per foot × run length, rounded to the nearest 1/16". Codes are adopted and amended state by state (for example, Georgia adopted the 2024 IPC with amendments effective in 2026) — confirm with your jurisdiction. The change-order builder does arithmetic and formatting only; it isn't legal advice or a contract template for your state.
