Digital download packager

Etsy lets a digital listing hold 5 files of up to 20MB each. Drop in everything you're selling and this packs it to fit — grouped into ZIPs where needed, with a "read me first" sheet for your buyer in every pack.

How the packing works

  • 5 files or fewer, each under 20MB? Upload them as they are — no ZIP needed. The buyer sheet becomes one of your 5 files if there's room.
  • More than 5 files? They're grouped into ZIP packs (largest first) so each pack stays under 20MB and you use as few of your 5 slots as possible.
  • A single file over 20MB can't be uploaded to Etsy as it is. Save images as high-quality JPG instead of PNG, reduce PDF image resolution, or split it. Zipping won't shrink it much — images and PDFs are already compressed.
  • More than 100MB in total won't fit in 5 slots. Many sellers deliver a PDF containing a download link (for example a shared Google Drive folder) instead.

ZIPs are created without extra compression ("store" mode) — that keeps them fast to build on any device and opens everywhere, including phones. Etsy's limits: up to 5 files, 20MB each (Etsy Help).
