Bundle & discount profit guard

A 20% discount doesn't cost you 20% of your profit — it usually costs far more. Add the items in a bundle or sale and see the biggest discount you can give while still keeping the profit you want.

What each discount really costs you

Why discounts hurt more than they look

Your costs don't shrink when your price does. Say an order sells for $50 and costs you $30 in materials, packaging and postage, leaving about $15 after Etsy's fees. A 20% discount takes $10 off the price, but your $30 of costs stay put — so your profit drops to under $6. That's a 20% discount that costs you about 60% of your profit.

This tool works backward from the profit you want to keep, so you can set a sale, a coupon or a bundle price with confidence. Bundles often do make sense: one label, one package and one $0.25 processing fee instead of several.
